Our Mission: Welcoming and assisting newcomers to Montenegro, furthering knowledge and understanding of Montenegro, fostering goodwill and friendship among club members and promoting the development of good relations between women in the international community and the host country through the support and realization of charitable projects.
Who we are: The International Women’s Club of Montenegro is a non-profit organization which is made up of women of different backgrounds and ages with a variety of interests. They include women whose spouses are on business or diplomatic assignment in Montenegro and women who are professionals in their own right. Members, presently represent 20 countries. We are united in the desire to meet other women from around the globe, to find friends, learn about each other’s clulture and to further the knowledge and understanding of the host country, Montenegro. Funds are raised and members can donate their skills and knowledge to support charitable projects that benefit the host country.
History of the IWCM: The International Women’s Club of Montenegro met informally for many years as a means for local and foreign women to get together socially and to share resources. In 2009, a group of women from Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Germany and the USA took steps to register the IWCM as a Non- governmental Organization (NGO). Since then, a management board and volunteer members have been organizing the Club’s activities.
Activities: Informal weekly coffee or lunch get-togethers, usually at a local restaurant or café, to provide opportunities to meet, sozialize and to discuss projects. Organization of the club’s main fundraiser, the annual Diplomatic Bazaar, which takes place in December. Interest groups are formed to plan and organize cultural activities as well as charitable projects, based on the interests and skills of individual members who lead these interest groups.
Membership: Membership is extended to all female foreign citizens who permanently or temporarily reside in Montenengro. 15% of total membership can be extended to Montenegrin citizens. Application for membership includes submission of the Membership Application and an annual membership fee of Euro 30
